Like Home, From Here — Natalie Rich

By Noelia P · 10 September 2026

Natalie starts the day walking. Among the pines, before breakfast, before the studio. As if nature were part of the process — and it is. Everything found outside ends up in the work, one way or another.

Natalie's studio in the north of Ibiza, and the work made there, open onto a map of civilisations. On the table: hundreds of small clay forms — suns, moons, crescents, crosses, geometries… African, Mediterranean, ancient. Natalie gathers them from places lived in, people met along the way, cultures carried within. Not to catalogue them. To play with them.

Because that is the process: a game. Placing, moving, redoing, discovering. Composition as something alive that isn't planned — it's found. Nature always present, the texture of the clay shifting with the light, the surface of a piece that is never exactly the same twice.

What stands out most is not the skill in the work (though that too). It is the intention and dedication behind it.

And the most generous thing about this creative universe is that it isn't closed off. It's opened up. We're invited in.

Natalie invites us into a way of creating and living without borders

SAWA is built around a real community: different ways of living the island, where the local and the international, culture, movement and everyday life coexist naturally. Natalie has lived in Ibiza this way for years: deeply rooted, with an inclusive way of creating and living that offers fresh perspectives to those who are here and those who are arriving.
